“This was on my door,” Wyatt said, holding up a pink paper.

Skyler cringed when she read the big block letters on top: EVICTION NOTICE.

“My life is over,” Wyatt said, crumpling into the empty seat at their table. The crew was at the Bar Knuckle for a drink at the end of the workday. “I’m going to have to go live with my parents,” he said dropping his forehead onto the table with a thud.

“It won’t be so bad,” Hunter said, trying to make him feel better. “A lot of thirty year olds live with their parents.”

Grayson picked up the crumpled pink paper and read it. “It says here that you have to be out by tomorrow.”

Everyone at the table went silent. The boys teased each other all of the time but Skyler could tell that it was all out of love. These four guys were really close and no one wanted to see Wyatt go.

Least of all Skyler. She didn’t want to be the one to tear the group up. They had taken her in and welcomed her as one of their own in the past few days. It was her brother who was causing all of this drama. And all to get back at her.

She looked at Jack. He was sitting, slumped down in his chair. “You can still come and visit,” he said. “It won’t be too bad.”

Skyler glanced over at her brother’s table through narrowed eyes. Brad was sitting at the table with his two goons, sulking over the fact that she wasn’t on a plane right now headed to God knows where. Fred and Frank were sitting at the table looking everywhere but their pissed off boss in front of them.

Skyler pictured herself going over there and dumping his beer over his spoiled, entitled head. She ground her teeth together and grabbed the eviction notice off the table and crumpled it in her hands. She squeezed the pink paper ball and stormed away from the table, making her chair squeak on the floor behind her.

Jack’s sister Brooke was at the bar opening beers and placing them on a tray. She marched right up to her.

“Can you do me a favor?” Skyler asked.

“Sure,” Brooke said. “What’s up?”

Skyler slipped a hundred dollar bill into Brooke’s hand. “This is for my brother’s table,” she whispered. “Pound those three with drinks and shots until they can’t talk anymore. I want them sleeping on the table by the end of the night.”

“I got just the thing,” Brooke said. She climbed onto the counter and grabbed a bottle with some nasty looking, red liquid inside. “Luke gave me a shot of this on my first day and I’m still recovering. It will put them in a coma.”

Brooke lined up three shot glasses and placed them on the bar.

“Wait,” Skyler said, placing her hand over them. “Better use these instead.” She reached behind the bar and took three rock glasses from a pile and lined them up on the sticky bar.

“Ooohh!” Brooke said with an evil smile.
